The Qur'an and the traditions of Prophet Muhammad  are filled with references to learning, education, observation, and the use of reason. This is not limited to religious education alone, but also secular knowledge of Dunya.

Unfortunately, costs of education, particularly at tertiary levels, have skyrocketed in the past decade. Since 2010, tuition fees at local universities have gone up every year for most courses, mainly due to rising operating costs. 

To alleviate this burden, Alwehdah created the Alwehdah Bursary to extend financial assistance to financially-needy Singaporean students of Arab descent pursuing tertiary education in our local Universities and Polytechnics.

Since the fund's inception in 2014, we have disbursed 193 awards worth SGD$292,000 in total.

Important notes: 

1. The Alwehdah Bursary is a community-funded initiative. 
   
2. The Final decision for the number of Awards given out lies solely with the Bursary Committee, which prioritizes students in greatest financial need.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Applicant must be a Singapore Citizen of Arab descent (through Maternal and/or Paternal side).
• Current recipients of bursaries/scholarships from other organizations are welcome to apply.
• Applicant must already be accepted into or be currently pursuing a full-time course in any of the following Singapore-based institutions:
• • Universities
  • Polytechnics
  • Certified Private Education Centres
